Just a reminder that I have tested this feature using the patch Vincent
supplied on the bug tracker:

There was a small problem for which I supplied my own patch (also
available on trac) that Vincent will need to review. Otherwise I am
happy, furthermore the consensus was that further work on lyx2lyx was
not required because Vincent had implemented logic to read "old" and
"new (hash)" style author identifiers directly in lyx. Many thanks to
Vincent et al.
