Dear LyX Developers, While working on another issue, I was taking a look at BibLaTeX over the weekend. It looks like a very nice package for the creation of bibliographies. On the Wiki it says that LyX does not support not support BibLaTeX natively, "yet."
I was wondering if there are plans to add it in the near future, or if someone is working on it. If not, it might be something that I'm interested in doing. It looks like any modifications would be minimal. Add an option to check if Biblatex is enabled, if so, then add a bibliography command to the preamble and a print command to the document at the point of the bibtex bibliography inset. I suppose that either the preferences UI or the BibLaTeX options dialog would probably need to be updated. I would vote for adding the needed options to the BibTeX dialog rather than the preferences dialog. Is there some complexity that I'm missing? Re: Ubuntu Packaging I have gotten in touch with the Debian maintainers, and they were kind enough to point me in the right direction. I am now trying to get in touch with the right people at Ubuntu to petition the inclusion of LyX 1.6.7. I hope to spend some time tomorrow creating a PPA and uploading test builds. Cheers, Rob
