No, sorry. I really can't because of a couple of reasons: 1. Honestly, I can manage the Python part, but my C++ skills are dubious at best. I am not confident to do this kind of development. 2. I don't really think this is a good solution. The current mess of output formats has at least one advantage: it is discoverable. You have all the alternatives right there in the submenu; if one of them (e.g. PDFLatex) is not working for you, then you know that you have an alternative. This feature has saved me a lot of times when one of the viewers or the converters was not working (for whatever reason). OTOH if the user had to go to Preferences and then select an alternative in order to use it then it is harder and more convoluted, and lots of users would not even know about it. IMHO having a submenu with all PDF output viewers/converters would be better, and the same for HTML. 3. My intention is to change the Export menu so that it lists all HTML converters, and this patch is not even close to that. I know that you know much more about LyX than me, a simple user, but if I am to contribute my time let me at least do it on something I believe in. Alex.
