Hello,

anyone against this patch ? It uses OutputParams.linelen to control newlines also on LaTeX exports, additionally to plaintext ones.

Yes, I'm against.

You give no reason for doing this.
Oh, if this is all it takes, here you go: converting "randomly" spaces
to newlines is not friendly with the searching facility. Therefore, for
such purpose, I need a LaTeX export that retains spaces as present in
the document (and I would set linelen to 0 or to MAXINT, in order to
achieve this, with the proposed patch).
Without such a change, I would be forced to (please, do not take this
seriously):
1) change temporarily the in-memory lyxrc property (saving the current
value) to 0 or MAXINT
2) perform the latex export
3) revert the in-memory lyxrc property to the saved value

And, furthermore, I guess that the width of the latex-exported lines as
visible in the "View Source" GUI panel could not be necessarily related
to the width of the latex-exported lines as produces when choosing
"Export->LaTeX" (i.e., in the View Source it could depend on the current
width of the visible text area, and font size used within).

AFAICS, everywhere an OutputParam for a LaTeX export is needed, the
linelen is set to something, but such value is currently ignored (but
correct me if I'm wrong, I know just a very little subset of the LyX code).
