By the way, this is NOT the same as bug #4493.I marked it as duplicate of #4491 because the bug description and proposals in #4473 are not the full story, only a special case of the general problem. What is not correct with this?
Because they are absolutely not the same. The simplest example of #4473 is:
asdf asd\textcolor{red}{ dasf }
which has nothing to do with #4491.
