In 7th grade they taught us to outline like this: I. Top level A. Second level 1. Third level a. Forth level i. Fifth level I'd always assumed LyX could do that. It's a very expressive way of outlining, an excellent enumeration method for documentation. It would be a nice extra to be able to have some outlines in the doc follow the preceding protocol, while others follow other protocols. It wouldn't be an earth shaking feature like character styles, but it would be a pleasant extra.
