This > would be a dataloss! No, it's not dataloss. The notes appear in the LyX document, but they prevent LaTeX from typesetting. In any case, this is resolved when recompiling with Qt-4.4. I am baffled, however, how Qt could affect LyX's generation of the .tex document. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Bennett
