Hmm, that is not complete ..
there is also
        $prefix/share/locale
        $prefix/lyx (I do not see here $prefix/share/lyx)

At the time of creating the installation sequences for cmake I had also my 
usual installations of lyx1.5, lyx1.6 and trunk.

I selected own installation directory for cmake. (default 
"/usr/local/share/lyx$version). But then the following directory-hierarchy 
started to be:
        /usr/local/share/lyx2.0/bin
        /usr/local/share/lyx2.0/man/
        /usr/local/share/lyx2.0/share/locale    !
        /usr/local/share/lyx2.0/lyx/{bind,commands, etc}

I did not like the repetition of "share" or "lyx" in path.

Now, that I am creating packages myself, and the package-manager correctly 
updates (or removes) previous installations, this does not hurt anymore.
So, if someone insists, I am ready to adapt the tree to anything we decide.
