Yes. > someone at work who was not aware of this behavior did something > similar and reset a nested item to an endframe and ended up with a > document that did not compile. This is indeed annoying but 1/ there are nesting bars that show this fact 2/ the real problem is this endframe business that is a kludge to use beamer with LyX. The real solution would probably be to use an InsetFlex instead. > i was wondering whether this behavior (which is a bit messy) is > intentional? They stay as they are. o first item is very interesting. however, it is a bit difficult to explain so I need a separate paragraph. Actually, it is so difficult that I'd better use itemize there too - first explanation - second explanation o second item is not very interesting and it is almost embarrassing that it was even mentionned. I'll stop there. > one possibility would be to shift them back to the 1st level until the > next first level item is encountered. > i any case i would think that if we reset the *last* item to another > environment we would like to leave the itemizing environment > altogether. When you are at the end of an environment, you do M-Return and it 1/ decrease envirnment depth 2/ set the layout to the right value automatically. Isn't that enough? Actually I had a plan to have a plain Return do that when the paragraph is empty (so that one does just press Return tzice), but I never took the time to do it. JMarc
