Peter, perhaps you have a another idea why I need to have a
preferences file to make LyX output files. Without this (that's the
case when you just installed LyX) LyX created the file, but don't
move it from the temp folder to the destination folder (where the
LyX file is).
Did you try to compile with CMake so that you can at last debug by
yourself?

That was for Uwe. I'd be surprised that you are not able to use CMake ;-)
for my separator-patch I've debugged lyx, and without the patch lyx
couldn't
generate the temp file.
And it could with your patch? If yes, then you've solved the bug. But I
remember Uwe saying that it does not fix it... Uwe, are you sure you
applied Peter's patch?
Is your commited patch a replacement of mine or is
it still needed (I will have a look at it at the weekend).
Your patch is completely orthogonal to my commit.
