I noticed that after installation of German version, at the first start
of Lyx (when the Documentation documents are automatically loaded), an
annoying error message appears telling that some classes and layout
files would be missing.
You need to have an opened Internet connection while installing LyX or while reconfiguring it. Then
all packages needed by LyX are automatically installed. The alternative Windows installer provides
the best possible support for this:
