I don't know the term for this. I double checked what CJK* does. It removes
the spaces only after the Chinese characters.
But now I changed my mind and think you do not need to support CJK*, if good
wrapping for a long line including Chinese characters can be provided. In
version 1.5.5, lyx can not auto wrap the the line including Chinese
characters well since there is no spaces after Chinese characters in
convention. I will file another bug report soon.
If the auto wrapping for Chinese characters is provided, I do not need to
type "Ctrl+Enter" or "space" key to manually wrap the long line including
Chinese characters, and then there will be no extra spaces after Chinese
characters(since I will not input these spaces :D) . Finally, CJK* is not
needed.
But it should still be better to provide a option to let user choose the
default font for CJK. This can avoid user to use ERT "\CJKfamily{kai}" etc.
at the beginning of lyx document.
