> if this is true how did it happen, that your installer is an alternative one?

Angus started a Windows installer, I joined him and sent a lot of patches. Angus later retired and I took over and created my installer. About a year later Joost appeared on the devel-list, and announced his installer where he took my code as basis. This installer became the official one - very surprising to me and I think for others as well.

My installer had this time some Windows specific settings, so that LyX under Windows looked a bit different than the Linux version, that not all developers liked, but these changes were requested by users. I later introduced these UI directly to LyX as this was requested by the developers. I would have wished Joost joined improving the installer. I admit that my installer was this time not modular in the code, now it is, but I had no chance to change it as Joost came up with his installer without contacting me before. I asked him later why he acted so and he replied, that he in generally don't work with installer code from others.

But history is history. I'm just pissed of when Joost states my installer is beside LyX and that it is not possible to work with him as I could report bugs and make suggestions for certain installer features, but nothing happens.

But better close this thread. I apologize when I have been undiplomatic to you
Joost.

regards Uwe
