You remove the PDF update button in your installer, right? Instead there
is only a combined view/update button.

I've checked the launcher code for your installer, but could not find a
feature that shows the LyX debug output on crashes. Maybe I'm missing
something.

I don't want to start the installer discussion again. My installer was
the code base of Joost's installer that he one day made the official
one. It is not separated from the LyX project as it was the first native
Windows installer for LyX and it is still under active development.
I only tried to explain the situation a bit. It's indeed a bit of a
difficult situation to explain and to understand for new users.
