I have given several examples in this thread why access to out of tree files are needed, and I have shown why linking is not a good solution. You can again call my problems personal, but yes, I program to make lyx works better for me. Actually, after all these messages, I have not heard a good summary of what *you (or Richard)* have in mind, a workable solution that avoids the problems I mentioned in the first message, a good solution to allow me to share different files from the same .lyx document. I would be happy to attack your proposal, instead of defending mine endlessly. Cheers, Bo
