This looks like a good plan to me.

Did you try the unicode grave character? You may be right, I am not sure.

I did not say you were wrong to write the ERT things. I just pointed
them out because you wrote there was no use of ERT in UserGuide.

\mbox should definitely be supported by the box inset.
