I still don't get it. Why can the custom file dialog buttons not removed from the file dialog for Linux? Then we have the same file dialog for all platforms, no matter how they will look on the different OS. Having a button in one OS and not in others is confusing.

Yes, I use Qt 4.3 for the installer builds and we could try this out.
But I don't understand why you and JMarc prefer to fiddle around with Qt versions instead of what I proposed. Fiddling means we have then different looking file dialogs: on Linux there is a button (as current), on Windows there is a link (when using Qt 4.3), and on Mac is nothing (due to the Qt 4.3 problems JMarc mentioned).
Having a menu instead of different dialog types is more logic. Therefore I'm 
puzzled.
