Bennett testing would be welcome of course but you don't need him to know if performance is better (especially since he's got is much powerful box now). "-dbg painting" will tell you all. Compare the console output of the patched and unpatched version while typing in inset and within insets, including within paragraphs containing maths.

Helge has a crappy video card and the difference on his box will show for sure. Another test is to launch LyX through an adsl or rtc link.
