It looks good on a first glance, and it seems to work fine on my box. However, I'd like it to be tested a bit. Expecially, I'd like a Mac user (Bennett?) to test whether this has an impact on performance when typing inside insets. After all, this was why the wide() thing was introduced initially, AFAIR. Martin, are there other things we should test when removing wide()? Jürgen
