Why do not you remove C-b as well if you decide to hide it? If you have C-b, why cannot you have Toggle bold menu item (and toolbar icon)? If you hide bold, why do not you hide noun, emph and others? Do not tell me they are using charstyles. I do know what you have in mind, and I like the idea of using charstyle. But for 1.5.x series, charstyle is not, and will not be, useful because no charstyle for emph, bold etc can be defined without .layout and lyx2lyx changes. (I will vote against the removal of plain \textbf even after \strong is available because InsetCharStyle is not as easy to use as font changes. This is another matter though.) So why can not we make bold etc available to users until char style \strong becomes available in 1.6? As I have said, practically speaking, \textbf is hidden right now and causes confusion and frustration to new users. Note that C-b is not documented ANYWHERE. I apologize if the above is not appropriate on non-Friday. Bo
