Nope, it is a collection of major points of previous announces presented in inverse chronological order (the most recent first). Else how would you know what had changed in the other releases? > * trunk/RELEASE_NOTES - Things to know about present release. As an example linuxdoc drop (not that anyone cares) should go there, and so should the relevant bugs that we have not fixed but are known (and are important according to some metric). > * trunk/status - ? According to the file: This file lists interface changes that might affect users in 1.5.0, and also some bug fixes. Think about all the commands that have changed name. > >> Where and how should we list known bugs in the (beta) of 1.5? > > > > We can work in the wiki and just before release we can copy that > > information to RELEASE-NOTES. What I am saying is something like this "known bugs bugs at release time are detailed in RELEASE_NOTES, an update version can be found at url:...". > So should ANNOUNCE really refer to the wiki, or should it refer to > RELEASE-NOTES? If I had to choose one I would peek RELEASE-NOTES. Should I make a suggestion and send it to the list? Yes, on both subjects. -- José Abílio
