This is due to the following line in the .lyx file:

\output_changes true

Simply uncheck "Document->Change Tracking->Show Changes in Output"
and everything is ok.

Thank you very much, Enrico. You literally saved my life because I am
preparing a life or death presentation. :-)

I discovered a few lyx bugs when I prepare the slides, I will
reproduce and report them later.
