Do you know about Ctrl+PageUp/PageDown?
By the way, could we please add also Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab for
those? A lot of application in Windows (and I believe KDE also) use
these binding to switch document.

There will be tabs in 1.5.0.

There is a math toolbar in 1.4.x, and it will be easier to configure
in 1.5.0. Of course, this is not as complete as a sidebar.
I think he was talking about a new window showing the help file. If that
is so, there is a still good chance that this will be possible in 1.5.0.
