On Debian/testing, [EMAIL PROTECTED] locale, revision 15808, I get the second
error
all right, but not the first one (I closed the spellchecker before the
end of the document): the spellchecker restarts at the
last checked word, even if I set the cursor at the beginning of the doc.
This looks like the same error as the empty window (i.e. memory is empty
at the first call, and keeps with the last check at the second call).
I just realize that I should have tested after a completed spellcheck.

The reason for this is that the spellcheck is completely broken by French
diacritics, so I never went to the end of the document.
Aspell proposes substitutions only on the last part of each word with
diacritics, e.g. "ale: for the word "générale", "crits" for "écrits".
If I succeed in the replace by pasting the full word in the field,
I get it with squares instead of diacritics in the LyX window.

And BTW, will bug 2529 be solved in 1.5.0 ?
