For the mac for example, Bennett routinely checks that it works. I
think the key to the stable releases is that people actually use them
during all the development period.
The problem is *not* if the binary works or not, but whether or not
the distributed source package can be compiled under these platforms.
Now, to submit lyx 1.4.3 to cygwin-package, I will have to add the
missing boost files as cygwin patch.
