Well, KDE not yet requiring qt4 doesn't mean they can't get qt4. qt4 is available for many distributions, they might just have to install it!
Therefore, we should support qt3 for at least three years for *NIXes. For WINDOWS and Mac, we can just drop it. One more thing, If you have difficulties maintaining qt3 frontend, I can try to handle it.
Now that is a solution too, of course. If you volunteer to maintain the qt3 frontend, then everybody else can work mainly with qt4 while you port the changes. That's the best of both worlds - faster/easier development and still two frontends. Helge Hafting
