The issue is the care we take with our user base. Not all users install the latest and greatest. I have been in places where all the software is installed by system administrators. In those places the software is updated yearly (at the best), and if lyx is not an easy install they will defer that operation. That is the reason for our conservative behaviour. As a developer I like to use (and I do it) the latest versions. As a release manager I must care with the expectations from our users. > am i the only one who is bored with this non-discussion?
