Since my patch is entirely based on the Kawakami's patch and thus can be
used for the input of japanese as well as koreans, it somehow obsoletes
the Kawakami's one. But his home page seems to have lots of informations
regarding "lyx for japanese", I would suggest a third entry here.

Attached is my patch against recent cvs tree (Jan.30th). Since I'm not an
expert in C or C++ at all, there must be much room for the improvement
in the patch.
