We should have a automatic way of updating these files anyway...
And it is to me a bit bad to supply 20+ languages with lyx.
Ok...what about this:
We supply scripts/code to do the extraction of language strings from
.ldf on install time. We also provide as a _separate_ package a
collection of language definition files. And of course we will always
supply the default/hardcoded strings.
