Hi,
I'm using lyx 1.0.1 for a couple of weeks to do my degree paper (I've
worked with the older version also) and I must admit it's much stable
than other document writing platforms in which I worked (MS Word) and
much easy to use when it comes to the difficult part : math.
I do have a few suggestions:
- it would be nice to have a document map - some sort of project in
which to add the subdocuments - in big documents where there are a lot
of include or insert it might take some time to find the place or the
document, more in such a way we will have some management (the project
dialog could also display some version information and ... ).
Maybe we will be able to insert references to one section of a
subdocument into another subdocument or a citation to a global Reference
document, from the interface via Insert reference or Insert citation,
without having to go to the document in which we thing the reference is
and try to find out if it really is there. (I don't thing that someone
will remember all the names for all the references)
I don't know if this is a bug - but if you try to type the name of a
reference which is not in the list given by Insert Reference dialog
you will not be able to do it - or a precaution.
- another thing will be "autocomplete". If it could be done as in
emacs from all the open files it would be excellent, using a nice
dialog (like the one from insert reference) for multiple matches.
Is there some work going on for a grammar correction tool (like the MS
Word have one )
I do not have time now (and I have some lack in X programming, LaTex )
to start a collaboration with you, but it's really nice to see more and
more guys passing over from the MS Word to the real thing. Which I must
admit is growing.
Regards,
Theo
