True - I thought I'd dump everything first and see where people wanted to
cut back ...

Hmm, they are always supposed to be next to each other. Can you point out
where they aren't. Also, what browser are you using. I laid this out with
Netscape 3.01 (I know, ancient stuff ...)

Okay, well taken.

I would actually not include it with the distribution, but just make it
part of the Web pages. My original idea (I think) was to have something to
point skeptics (and other curious parties) to when they wanted to know
what LyX is really like without having to download and install it first.
Something like:

\begin{enumerate}
1) Gee, I wonder what LyX is really like?
2) See Web page.
3) Yeah, but how does it really work?
4) See graphical tutorial.
5) Okay, looks good. I want it.
6) Download and install LyX.
7) Gee, this isn't so obvious afterall.
8) Read real tutorial.
\end{enumerate}

I could be made part of the documentation, I suppose, but I am hesitant
tacking another 1.5 MB of stuff onto the distribution. After all,
lyx-1.0.0pre4.tar still fits on a single floppy if compressed with
bzip2 -9 :-)

After I collect opinions and issue a revised version, we can decide just
where it should live ...
