I've fully translated all messages in 1.0.0pre4, but still suffer
problems with gettext. I think that we should provide an option to
tell LyX where to get gettext includes and libraries. You already
found that Solaris has no Russian locales, so using standard Solaris'
gettext is impossible, isn't it?

Should, I think. So neigher Solaris', nor GNU's gettext don't support
Russian locales. I will contact GNU gettext team to offer them myself
to russificate it. So... When is the LyX 1.0.0 release scheduled?
