LyX also works under Windows 95 (to the extent that one can call a program
to 'work' under that OS). I found out that the X-server I advocated (MI/X)
doesn't work. The X-server from Starnet does work however, and is much
nicer anyway.
Several people reported problems (mostly running configure) which I have
tried to solve. Please try again. Unfortunately, it is absolutely needed to
install the stuff in c:\apps\lyx-1.0.0 . I very much would like to hear
experiences from other users who tried to get the whole thing configured.
I will make a new binary when LyX is released. I will then upload the port
to the Cygwin repository. Come to think of it, when LyX is released, will
anybody send email to the major Linux distributors?
