No you did not. You tried to point at something that does not match _your personal preference_. The installed distro is 100% functional and behaving as intended. That is not in any way a bug, privacy-related or otherwise. It does not work the way you want. It _does_ work the way that _I_ want and, I submit, the way that most other people want. I also submit that even those people who prefer to use other search engines, such as DuckDuckGo -- you misspelled it -- would mostly not care about the browser opening Google _once_. Or, if they did, they would disconnect their machine from the Internet, open the browser, change the homepage, save and quit, and then reconnect it. Very simple, easy, quick, requires no particularly difficult specialist technical knowledge. > Nothing personal. Wrong again. This is _entirely_ personal. You want _your_ preferences to override everyone else's. > But when it comes to privacy then I don't let anyone push me over. Then go use TAILS or QubesOS or some other privacy-focused distro and stop playing around with an easy, beginner-friendlty distro like Lubuntu. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/linux-distros-paranoid-secure-distros-si/ Note the page title: "Linux Distros For The Paranoid: What Are The Most Secure Distros?" > You seemingly care less about privacy then me. Yes. And that is my choice and my right. Note my RFC3676-compliant signature, which contains my real name, my phone numbers, and all my online contacts. Unlike you, who does not even have the courtesy to tell us your name while demanding that a free product is customised for your individual preferences. There is nothing wrong with your preferences, and you are perfectly entitled to hold them. What you are _not_ perfectly entitled to is to impose them on everyone else. This is a very important life lesson to learn. I suggest you go offline and have a long think about it. -- Liam Proven • Profile: https://about.me/liamproven Email: lpro...@cix.co.uk • Google Mail/Talk/Plus: lpro...@gmail.com Twitter/Facebook/Flickr: lproven • Skype/LinkedIn/AIM/Yahoo: liamproven UK: +44 7939-087884 • ČR/WhatsApp/Telegram/Signal: +420 702 829 053 -- Lubuntu-users mailing list Lubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/lubuntu-users
