The most recent report seems to be this one (2007, includes a patch): http://www.linux-mips.org/archives/linux-mips/2007-03/msg00197.html previously (2004) there was this bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=268001 which version of binutils are you using?
