Nice template, Duane. Very organized and thorough. Interestingly, in Vancouver, we've taken an approach that directly contradicts the first sentence: "What makes a person want to spend time away from their friends and family to contribute to your group?"
It is our feeling that if people need to spend time away from family and friends to contribute, then we are doing the *wrong* things. Most of our events should have something for everyone. People should feel that events are a place to bring (and be with) friends and family. Everyone uses a computer, and everyone is human so everyone is needed, invited, and welcomed. We need everyone's perspective. This stance will help us cross the chasm and become the system that is used by the majority of people.
