I posted the first draft on the web, and would love to hear your opinions/comments. You can find it at: http://forums.ort.org.il/files/307/1647416/2279187.zip (It have the document in multiple formats inside)
Actually, there are some. I am working right now on a fixed version, which also combines some comments I got.As a general - looks good and I could not spot any typo
1. In the HTML version, there seems to be a unique problem with the first
paragraph, at least as viewed with Konqueror 3.1.x and Mozilla.
Yes, the HTML does need to be fixed up.
2. Konq 3.1.x displays the other bullets as asterisks (*)
I know- this will be fixed with the proper version
The HTML will look better once I add some CSS to it, but it never look identical to the PDF, as the fonts used there are not on every system (the titles are in one of the TTF from http://www.kitsh.co.il/bensfonts , the body text is in Raanana, a Hebrew system font from Mac OS). Those fonts just happened to be the fonts I have set in my word processor in the general styles. I usually have HTML with no font declaration other then general serif or sans-serif, at leave it up the the user to decide what font he/she prefers for each type.
3. The PDF looks much better than the HTML, but it might be a good idea to
keep the HTML free of fancy CSS fonts and styles.
Yes- it was written with the Mac OSX Mellel Word-Processor (http://www.redlers.com)4. It seems the original document is this 1site.mell thing. Is it some kind of Hebrew Word-Processor?
5. It could be a good idea to link to CSS, DHTML, etc. from the appropriate places in the HTML.
Yes, that will be done.
BTW, from what I inferred from what the W3C director of Israel said, theThe validator can check Hebrew and Arabic pages as long as they have proper encoding declared. However, visual Hebrew pages might still be declared valid by it, as it does not really know the difference between visual and logical.
W3C validators do not yet support validating text in Hebrew or Arabic. Is
that true? So far, I only used them to validate English HTML, and they
proved to be very helpful.
