I've tried both RedHat 8.0 (2.4.18) and Mandrake 9.0 (2.4.19). 2.4.19 I believe is the latest stable kernel and both of those are the latest kernels for those distros. I could try some older releases...


- Recompile USB with all debugging options and do the
/var/log/messages dance.
You're overestimating my abilities - this is my first attempt at Linux. I *could* try recompiling the kernel etc., but I'm more likely to just screw it up.
