For CD-Rs go to the cdrecord homepage. For printers, I think you
should check the GhostScript docs. For scanners, go to the SANE web
page. DVD-RAMs I don't know about but I think they're standard like
CD-ROM drives. I hope someone with more knowledge about them will
answer this one, though.

You can find the software that I mentioned by going to
http://freshmeat.net and typing in the name in the search box.

One of the two: either http://www.xemacs.org/ or http://www.vim.org/.
These are the tools with which virtually all the software in your
Linux distribution has been written.

Actcom sponsored our Linux CDs on IW2k, so I guess they support
Linux. But if you're talking about regular modem connections, you can
use any ISP with Linux.

There isn't any stable way, AFAIK. (There've been some hacks here and
there but nothing serios. Nothing to *write* to your Linux partition
for sure.)

The canonical place should generally be ftp.ivrix.org.il.

Ilya K.?

They come with the glibc-devel package, so install it if you haven't yet.

No way, /real/ programmers use
    zcat > a.out
'cause you can type faster that way.
