Shalom,
I hope these questions are not too trying ...

I recently installed on my new PC (o/c Celleron 300A) Debian Slink
(kernel 2.0.36)

I had a few difficulties:

1. I don't quite know how to configure sound in my system. Is there a
tool like RH sndconfig? I couldn't find one. I did read the relevant
HOWTO's but do I really need to compile the kernel? (there doesn't seem
to be any sound
module in modconf).
my sound card is Sound Blaster 64PCI. It was detected by RH5.2 (kernel
2.0.36) sndconfig as AudioPCI and worked fine there.

2. There was some problems reported during installation. some packages
required the libraries
/usr/lib/libtcpwarpGK.so.1
/usr/lib/libomnithread.so.2
/usr/lib/libomniORB2.so.6
/usr/lib/libomniLC.so.2
(there were quite a few packages, I don't have their names handy though)

what are those?

3. I have on my machine a running RH5.2, I want lilo to boot them both.
The way I figured is to copy the RH5.2 currently working /etc/lilo.conf
to
the debian partition /etc/lilo.conf and run the lilo configuration
utility.
Anything you think I should know before doing this? (note that RH5.2
lilo version is 20, while Slink's is 21)

4. Slink comes bundled with gnome-0.30. In the unstable packages there
is
gnome-0.99-3 or something, anybody had a positive experience with a
post 1.
gnome on slink?
