Air traffic operating before 7am or after 11pm are subject to fines by Massport. The fines are around $500.00. Why would anyone who could afford a $20mm jet be deterred by a $500 fine for landing or taking off after hours? (I can hear them in the summer sometimes landing at 1am, add 100 more planes and it will be every night) The fines for operating outside business hours should be painful. 1st violation =1% of the retail value of the aircraft. 2nd violation =2% + 30 day grounding of the aircraft 3rd violation = banned from Hanscom.
