I can not find anything about using two sets of offsets in the link you provided. And I probably wouldn’t have found it, since it doesn’t mention the \shape-command. Maybe pointing at \shape would be helpful, especially since it seems to me, that the „known problem“ can be worked around partly with \shape. … I take that back!!!
