If the LilyPond package is installed from the standard repositories, I'd rather recommend to mark it for uninstall and purge on the package manager Synaptic, or by the command sudo aptitude purge '~nlilypond' on a terminal window. After this, try to install the binary from our webpage. Only further uninstalls should be done with the uninstall-lilypond command on a terminal. -- Francisco Vila.
