You can enlarge the font size in the preferences: "Edit" menu > "Preferences" > 
"Fonts and Colors" tab > change the font size on the bottom right.

This will not work. The change in our distribution method was done for good 
reasons, and one of the reasons is that nobody managed to build a 64-bit 
version of LilyPond in the previous setting.

If your dislike for Frescobaldi goes deeper than the font size issue, you can 
always run the LilyPond binaries you downloaded on the terminal directly, using 
the command "~/.../bin/lilypond file.ly" (replace the ellipsis with the path 
where you put LilyPond).
