Hi Bernhard, a cadenza is rhythmically free, no checks, no limits, no rules. So a combination of \cadenzaOn and | doesn't make any sense.
Apart from this - in addition to all the other replies - I'd like to point out that LilyPond's behaviour (allow note durations to stretch out into the next bar) is one of the big advantages compared to much more rigid software (Finale, Sibelius, ...). This tine example shows a tuplet /deliberately/ crossing a barline: Try to achieve this with any other software (I'm not sure about Dorico, though) and you'll see that a lot of tricky tweaking and fiddling is needed to get it done. tuplet-spanning-barline.png <http://lilypond.1069038.n5.nabble.com/file/t3887/tuplet-spanning-barline.png> All the best, Torsten -- Sent from: http://lilypond.1069038.n5.nabble.com/User-f3.html _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
