Agreed, you never know which is which, I've noticed the same.

Yes, this makes sense to me. What presentation would you prefer?
I think Werner likes that idea where the new image is red and blurred a bit
and the old one is just black.
I might try taking new-minus-old, render that with red ink, blur it a bit,
and composite it with a pale version of the old?

Is there any other presentation that comes to that you'd like to see?
