Actually, although I suspect it can't be done, I notice a lot of the examples have been using "\abolute x''" - any chance of forcing absolute to actually take an "x" (rather than, as I suspect was the case, "x" was a place holder for "any note")? I really don't like the idea of using a note to mean an octave offset - it just jars ...
