Hmm, that should be the case already. I've got LO 26.2.x on a Mac also and
saving a document pops that doc to the top of the recent list. I grabbed and
ran 25.8.6.2 and that also puts saved docs to the top of the recent list.

Yes this would certainly be annoying.

I'm not able to reproduce your issue in LO 26.2 or 25.8; would you be able to
download and try LO 25.8.6.2 just to double check what I'm seeing? If that
still doesn't put saved documents at the top of the recent list we'll have to
dig deeper.
