DESTDIR would then have to be cleaned before/after each package. Then we would have a book where if a reader doesn't want to use it, he must not execute some of the commmand(s) on the pages. It could get ugly. However, with some thought and a decent plan, it might be workable in LFS. I can't see it happening in BLFS for the simple reason that it would be a monumental task (automating the proper inserts could perhaps be done, but we wouldn't do that until *every* package has been tested, which again would be monumental). -- Randy rmlscsi: [bogomips 1003.26] [GNU ld version 2.16.1] [gcc (GCC) 4.0.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.6] [Linux 2.6.14.3 i686] 11:54:00 up 13 days, 11:45, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.03, 0.06 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
