Seeing how that about 4-5 people have given replies, and there are 4-5 different answers, all different, I think the topic is simply one that needs to mature a bit. I thought I had something going in my mind moving in the right direction, but because of all the different things being said, it is hard for me at this point to form a definite theory about this. I understand all about D-Bus and HAL and how they interoperate and how HAL doesn't do automounting, it requires a userspace app, etc, etc. But the "you don't need HAL thing" with others saying the userspace app is dependent on HAL, just has me totally confused at this point. -- Randy rmlinux: [bogomips 3993.32] [GNU ld version 2.16.1] [gcc (GCC) 4.0.2] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.6] [Linux 2.6.14.3 i686] 18:08:14 up 18 days, 42 min, 4 users, load average: 0.08, 0.12, 0.08 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
